It’s a shame, really, to let all that rainwater just drain back into the soil. Many plants and trees prefer rainwater to tap water. What’s more, substituting rain water for tap water is very sustainable.
How to collect and use rainwater
You could buy a rain barrel, but placing a bucket or container outside is also a good option. It really is that simple! It is best to place the container in a shaded spot, so algae will have less opportunity to develop in the water container. Then, on dry days, you can pump the water out of the container with a pumping system, for example. But filling a watering can is just as easy, of course.
You don’t need green fingers for Addenda® plants; with just a splash of love they will flower beautifully. Give Campanula plants a splash of water twice a week and water Hebe every other day. On dry summer days, Hebe will want a sip every day and Campanula every other day!
